Bleeding to death after brutal mugging on the campus of UNLV, Twenty-five year old Alyssa, is rescued by the cold and aloof, vampire, Lysander. Taking pity on her, he shares the gift-and curse-of immortality. She awakens as a vampire and is soon devastated by harsh realities of her new way of life: An unyielding thirst for blood as well as the loss of her friends, her independence, and her humanity.
As if having her humanity stripped away was not enough to make life interesting, Alyssa finds out her "turning", did not go unnoticed by the rest of undead society. Old enemies; an ancient sect of vampire hunters, known as the Acta Sanctorum, as well as a powerful Vampire mistress, each set plans in motion to destroy both Alyssa and Lysander.
Only by accepting her new-found immortality, seizing the night, will Alyssa hope to survive. She and Lysander must fight together against two sets of enemies bent on destroying them both.

Ei bine, cartea aceasta mi-a adus aminte de un meci de tenis pe care l-am jucat odata: eram in slapi, in fusta si intuneric(ca sa aiba sens: nu, nu era nocturna pe acolo). Bineinteles, nici macar nu vedeam mingile, dar nu era asa doar la mine. Chiar daca am jucat fara un scop, m-am distrat. Concluzia: cartea a fost neasteptata si placuta. Sper ca ati inteles unde bat.
Pot sa spun sincer ca am tot amanat cartea(doar vreo 6 luni, nu mai mult) desi nu am avut nici un motiv si ca nu trebuia sa o fac. Dupa parerea mea e o carte foarte buna care evolueaza incet, dar sigur.
Ceea ce mi-a atlas cel mai tare atentia si ceea ce mi-a placut cel mai mult la carte este faptul ca povestea se axeaza mai mult pe sentimente, nu neaparat pe fapte. Inchipuiti-va ca devniti vampiri peste noapte si ca trebui sa beti sange. Reactia voastra: yeeey...asta asteptam. Nu cred si sincer, nici autoarea nu crede.
Bineinteles, se putea mai bine. Sfarsitul a fost cam previzibil, dar nu ma plang. Putea fi mai rau.
E o carte pe care o recomand cu zambetul pe buze(sincer, am ras foarte mult la aceasta carte, chiar daca nu cred ca e plina de glume) si pe care mi-as dori-o si in romana.
